I'm fascinated by how the oboe can challenge students to become their own best teachers — in music and in life. My aim is to empower students to solve technical challenges and embody many musical styles so that their unique inner voices shine through.

Focus on reedmaking

I also love to teach the craft of reedmaking. My doctoral research focuses on how to make the process of learning reedmaking personalized to the strengths and weaknesses of each individual student. Whether you're just beginning, or have been making reeds for years, we can work together to find a low-stress reedmaking plan that works for you.
